La celebración del año nuevo en Ajijic es muy variada, se celebra en casa con la familia y amigos, algunos deciden llevar la fiesta con todos los vecinos y hacer una gran convivencia. También hay varios restaurantes abiertos el día 31 por la noche con música en vivo y un delicioso menú para disfrutar.
Pero la diversión no termina ahí. Para el pueblo de Ajijic el desfile de Año Nuevo en el barrio de Guadalupe se ha vuelto ya una tradición, que es realizado por grupos de personas de “las 6 esquinas” y “La Villa”. Como ya se ha mencionado, Ajijic es alegre por naturaleza y este desfile es una gran representación de esa alegría.
Los carros alegóricos llenos de colorido y de temas muy creativos, añaden diversión y buen humor en todos los personajes en que van disfrazados. El objetivo es arrancar una sonrisa o hasta una carcajada de todos los que ven el desfile.
El desfile hace su recorrido de las 6 esquinas pasando por las calles Ocampo, Aldama, Guadalupe Victoria, llegan a la plaza y de ahí regresan a las 6 esquinas para reunirse en el campo de fútbol del Barrio de Guadalupe. Aquí se realiza su tradicional encuentro deportivo, acompañado de antojitos, botanas, tacos y música en vivo.
En Ajijic se recibe el año nuevo con una sonrisa, con mucha diversión y una buena actitud.

CELEBRATING NEW YEAR’S IN AJIJIC
New Year’s celebration is very wide ranging in Ajijic, it can be celebrated at home with friends and family, some decide to get together with the neighborhood and throw a big party. There are also various restaurants opened on the night of the 31st with live music and a delicious menu to enjoy.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. For the town of Ajijic, the New Year’s parade in the Guadalupe neighborhood has turned into such a tradition. It is realized by a group of persons from “The Six Corners” and “La Villa” neighborhoods. Like it has been mentioned before, Ajijic is a very happy town by nature and this parade is a great representation of it.
The floats are filled with color and the themes are very creative, the people that are disguised in different characters add fun and a sense of humor to the parade. The objective is to pull out a smile or even a loud laugh to those who watch the parade.
The parade makes its route from the six corners and going through the streets Ocampo, Aldama, Guadalupe Victoria, they arrive to the plaza and from there they go back to the six corners to reunite at the soccer field located in the Guadalupe neighborhood. Here they realize their traditional sports encounter, accompanied by snacks, tacos and live music.
In Ajijic, the New Year is received with a smile, lots of fun and a great attitude.
