One of the traditional festivities in Ajijic is the celebration of the Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe, a celebration that takes place in the neighborhood of “Las seis esquinas” (the six corners) which takes its name “Barrio de Guadalupe.”
It is here where a special “novenario” (nine-day prayer) is held prior to December 12, playing the Mexican song “mañanitas” in the morning to the Virgin, with fireworks and music.
